The Moffat - Blended Malt Scotch Whisky
The Moffat is THE local blended malt Scotch whisky. Made by the independently owned blending company, Dark Sky Spirits Ltd, it is a small-batch craft whisky.
Described as exceptionally drinkable and light, with flavours of almond, raisin, and subtle spice.
Appearance: Amontillado sherry.
Nose: “Hot Cross Buns”. Toffee, grapefruit and bread dough. Marzipan with orchard and tropical fruit notes. Sherry, oak and leather.
Taste: Smooth. Cereal and dried fruit. Spice, nutmeg and almond. Sherry, citrus and vanilla.
Finish: Long. Spicy. Warm. Sweet. Fruit cake.
Verdict: Suitable for drinking on so many occasions.
Pairings: Perhaps ideally served either at the end of a meal, with cheese and biscuits or plain chocolate.
Bottled at 40% ABV.
