THIS BLEND IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. Since the founding of the Moffat Distillery, we no longer make our flagship blend, the Moffat. In a few years, we will release the Moffat Single Malt Scotch. The Moffat is THE local blended malt Scotch whisky. Made by the independently owned blending company, Dark Sky Spirits Ltd, it is a small-batch craft whisky.
Described as exceptionally drinkable and light, with flavours of almond, raisin, and subtle spice.
Appearance: Amontillado sherry.
Nose: “Hot Cross Buns”. Toffee, grapefruit and bread dough. Marzipan with orchard and tropical fruit notes. Sherry, oak and leather.
Taste: Smooth. Cereal and dried fruit. Spice, nutmeg and almond. Sherry, citrus and vanilla.
Finish: Long. Spicy. Warm. Sweet. Fruit cake.
Verdict: Suitable for drinking on so many occasions.
Pairings: Perhaps ideally served either at the end of a meal, with cheese and biscuits or plain chocolate.
Bottled at 40% ABV.
